I know which year it's from, silly! All of my friends were in 4th year last year, so between that and dating Joy I got the best preview of 4th year ever. Not to mention I should of been gradding with them myself, but I took 2 years off to go to Europe as well as do a program at the University.
Yessum, I may be in 3rd year now, but I should in fact be done by now! Mind you, its not like I put my time off from ACA to waste though! You're doing pretty good though, I'd say. Tividar keeps bringing your projects upstairs to show everyone when he's marking.
He really does! I'm still not sure which I want to do, illustration or character. I want to get into comic book in the end, so I'm trying to figure out which would give me a better skill set for that. My friends that came out of character learned some great anatomy and whatnot but some of their other skills were lacking. I was shifting towards illo at the beginning of the semester but now I'm unsure! Suggestions?
Well the nice thing about illustration is that you get elective spaces so you can pick up some character design classes as well, it might give more flexibility? But myself I've liked the character design stream so far, it's just all of this animation stuff that they're trying to pack into the stream isn't really helping that much towards my portfolio. I think they could make better use of the time slot, and gear it towards character based folio work. That's just one class that's a problem. I find it's helping me build more on my ability to draw environments, characters, and the ability to communicate story rather than strengthening single conceptual ideas. Those are my thoughts so far anyway.
